Laze-about. Womanizer. Vainglorious ass. It's not hard to see the man with the half-turned grin and the artfully ruffled hair and believe that all of the stories are true. Here is a man who has risen quickly, perhaps too quickly through the ranks, and consequently thinks the world of himself. Who procrastinates his way through the day while his subordinates are kept hopping. Who frankly didn't do anything since the Ishval rebellion to be worthy of his rank.

Of course, if you think all of that, you'll miss the brilliant tactician with dreams too big to be spoken of openly. You'll miss the man who would move heaven and earth (and set them all ablaze) to keep the people he considers 'his' safe. You'll miss the soldier with the bleeding heart.

That's alright.

Roy Mustang is a young (at this time, 29 year old) man who has already gained more than a little notoriety - he has already risen to the rank of Colonel, he has the undying support of his small band of subordinates, and he is the infamous 'Flame Alchemist' - a noted hero of the Ishval Rebellion. He is always dressed well - either in uniform, or in a three-piece suit if he has to wear civilian clothing. He is almost always wearing a pair of white dress gloves, with a pattern in red stitched on the backs.
